How to clean your DAHLLSKA bag?
It is vital not to machine wash or immerse the bag in water, instead:
Use a soft cloth, slightly dampened with water, to clean the surface very carefully. Avoid rubbing too much.
If the item has a stubborn stain, it's advisable to dip the cloth in a container with cold water and mild soap or diluted alcohol, gently clean the area without scrubbing hard until the stain is completely or mostly removed. In your package, you will receive a small sample of the main material along with your order, so make sure to first do a cleaning test with mild soap or diluted alcohol on the sample to avoid affecting the color or texture of the item.
In case of excessive moisture or liquid spill, it is recommended to dry immediately using a soft, dry, clean cloth to remove as much moisture as possible without rubbing. Then, let the bag air dry away from direct heat sources or sunlight.
The use of harsh chemical cleaners is completely inadvisable as they can damage the final result of the piece.
Care of metallic hardware
For metallic hardware, it is advisable to use a dry or slightly damp cloth applied gently. If you choose to use a slightly damp cloth, do not allow it to air dry; immediately dry with a clean, dry cloth.
Do not wet the hardware or use harsh chemical cleaners as they may damage the final finish of the piece.
How can I restore the shape of my DAHLLSKA bag?
Once dry, bags made with raffia thread can regain their original shape by using a steam iron at a low temperature. Fill your bag with a soft, clean, and dry cloth or with paper, and carefully, lovingly, and patiently pass the iron around the bag. You will see how little by little your bag returns to its original shape.
For bags made with cotton thread, place a soft, clean cloth or clean paper inside the bag, gently shape the exterior of your bag with your hands, and let it rest for a couple of hours.
How to preserve my DAHLLSKA bag?
Avoid bumps or falls.
Keep the bag away from sharp objects to prevent scratches or snags on the thread.
Keep the bag away from direct heat or sunlight.
If your bag is a light color, avoid using it directly over dark-colored clothing (such as dark blue jeans) that may transfer color, especially when wet or new. Always test first on the sample included in your package by rubbing it against the fabric.
If you want your bag's life to be even longer, avoid overloading your bag to maintain its shape, structure, and functionality.
Always store your bag in an upright position in a cool, dry place, preferably inside a dust bag to protect it from dust and sunlight.
Avoid leaving your bag unused for prolonged periods, especially in humid or unventilated areas. The hardware may develop rust, tarnishing, or discoloration over time if not properly cared for.
